[EN] This video showcases one of the most beautiful rivers and top fly fishing destinations in the province of Quebec. And this is also one of my favorites! All this has been made possible thanks to the remarkable work performed by all the volunteers of the Club des Moucheurs Endiablés. Best catch & release practices are very well explained in the second part of the video. Enjoy!

[EN] My gold generally swims in the wild rivers of South Quebec and Northern Adirondacks. I like to fly fish for native brown trout more than for any other species. Since I saw this fantastic fly fishing video back in 2010, these golden dorados have captured my imagination big time! Film producer Grant Wiswell shared this extraordinary experience in this online article of the American Angler magazine. This video gets really INTENSE after 4:00...!!!

[EN] I had been thinking about this pattern since last fall and recently sat at the vise to materialize it. It is inspired by Richard Garfield's ultra effective Sirloin using a mix of chenille and coyote for the tail, body and wing sections. The design of the head portion is inspired from Nick Granato's excellent Chubby Muffin. This streamer combines the ondulation motion of the coyote with a large profile and almost zero buoyancy obtained using craft fur. Definitely a favorite this season when streamer fishing deeper water.

I look forward to trying one of these this upcoming season

[EN] Moved some nice trouts during the past season with a series of size #2-#4 streamers I concocted using a mix of coyote fur, bucktail, peakcok earl, rubber legs and a medium-size fish skull head. The action of the coyote material is phenomenal! I decided to tie a few of these coyote streamers in a longer tandem version for the upcoming season. Cannot wait to try them....

[EN] Recently came across this video. You have to have a look! Amazing images from Alberta and BC that to me trully capture the essence of what we do. One of the most beautiful and artistic fly fishing videos I have ever seen....my heart litterally stopped at 02:28! The video was recently published by Jah Raven on his blog at this link.

[EN] Spring 2010 saw the first time I crossed the Canadian border to go fish Upstate New-York. Since then I have had the chance to explore several river systems of the beautiful Adirondacks region discovering some of the finest fly fishing for wild brown trout I have ever seen. I have gathered some of my photos of the past two seasons in an attempt to describe how great a day can be wading one of these rivers...

Adirondacks rivers are wild, strong and amazingly beautiful
I enjoy every second wading and fishing these rivers
They provide endless opportunities to the fly fisherman
where he can meet magnificent resident wild trouts
I often stop to contemplate the scenery
before continuing my way eager to discover the next meander of the river
Feisty native fish will take well-presented nymphs
They have perfect profiles, glowing fins and intense colors
Sometimes a bigger fish will chase your streamer and give you an incredible fight
creating a moment you will never forget
When the sun is high it is time for a rest
to reenergize you for some additional action
The well-rested fish is released to live another day
The fly angler drives back home already thinking about the next time...

[EN] Had such a great time fishing the Salmon river, Oswego County, NY with guide Tony Gugino (http://www.salmoncountryguide.com/) last October that I decided to bring my friend Francis with me for another guided trip last fall. Although we were still mid November, we started the day with good snowfalls!! With the instructions from Tony on how to achieve very long drifts at proper speed using stack mends, Francis and I had many hockups with a good number of fish brought to the net. Here are some of the photos taken by Tony on that great day!

[FR]

The first steelie of the day was not only superb but gave an amazing fight
Part of the day we faced conditions tytical of winter steelheading
This male had amazing colors under sunshine
Francis enjoying a beautiful fish
Tony guided us to some very prolific Steelhead holding areas
Feisty female rainbow trout...but very shy in front of the camera
All fish were quickly photographed for immediate release
Francis definitely caught the beauty of the day
Hope to be back on the Salmon river very soon...
